Frank on Frank
Presented by Frank Capra III
Frank Capra was a major force in Hollywood in the 1930's and 40's, winning six Academy Awards including three as Best Director for It Happened One Night (1934), Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936) and You Can't Take It With You (1938), all speaking to the basic goodness of human nature and the value of unselfishness and hard work.
But Fallbrook holds Frank Capra in special esteem as he and his family had a 1,100 acre ranch here, growing avocados and olives - throwing many a Hollywood party.
His grandson, Frank Capra III, himself a renowned and recognized Hollywood director and producer (The Bucket List, Rumor Has It, Murder by Numbers and Drop Dead Diva), well recalls his time in the Fallbrook area. In this workshop, he will show mementos and share recollections of his grandfather who not only personally touched this community but embraced the entire world through his heartfelt cinematic genius.
