The Fallbrook Film Festival traces its origins to a single screening in the winter of 2000.
The Early Years (2000-2005)
During its first five years, the festival operated on a shoestring budget in borrowed classrooms and church halls.
Growth and Recognition (2006-2015)
In 2006, the festival moved to the historic Fallbrook Theater. By 2010, it was recognized by FilmFreeway as a top 100 film festival in North America.
Digital Revolution (2016-2020)
The 2018 festival introduced the "California Made" category.
The Pandemic Years (2020-2022)
The 2020 festival was held entirely online, reaching a global audience of 12,000 viewers.
Present Day (2023-2026)
Today, the Fallbrook Film Festival is a cornerstone of San Diego County's cultural calendar.
